With 37 direct and 38 add-on investments since 2010, ABRY is an active acquirer and investor in tech and is known for its expertise in media in particular. The Firm is currently investing ABRY Partners VIII, its flagship $1.9B fund. Investments range from $50M to $150M in size. For potential platform deals, it can go even smaller with its $550M Heritage fund. This is ABRY’s newest fund and first foray into small cap investing, targeting $20M to $50M investments. ABRY also manages a series of mezzanine funds, holding preferred securities, and senior debt funds, holding second lien debt securities, which often co-invest in the same portfolio companies as its equity funds. ABRY’s ability to invest across the entire capital structure of a target company is a differentiating skill set.
