While the macro trend within defense spend over the past several years has been a decrease in funding in response to overseas pullbacks and general budgetary pressures, this decline has not been uniform. While many traditional defense programs have received less funding, IT related spending has seen a continued increase across all services and agencies as national security capabilities are increasingly reliant upon effective and secure information systems.
