January 5, 2016 (Boston, MA and London, UK)—AGC Partners is pleased to announce the continuation of its expansion efforts with the hire of its newest partner, Markus Salolainen. Markus joins AGC as a Partner and Head of Europe. AGC has always considered Europe as a key market, given the strength of its technology sectors, growing entrepreneurial culture and increased access to growth capital at all stages. Markus will be in a strong position to leverage AGC’s considerable platform and network of resources and relationships for the benefit of existing and future clients both in the U.K. and the rest of Europe.
Markus has over 20 years of experience in investment banking and specializes in mobility and software technologies. Markus started his career in TMT Investment Banking with UBS and HSBC. After working as a Principal at BlueRun Ventures and a General Partner at Nokia Growth Partners, Markus joined Arma Partners where he was Senior Managing Director focusing on mobility and communications companies globally. Most recently Markus was a Managing Director at GrowthPoint Technology Partners.
Also joining AGC and Markus in London will be Sachin Agarwal and Franco Monzani. Sachin will be a Principal at AGC and has more than 10 years of experience in investment banking and engineering. Sachin began his career in the TMT advisory groups at UBS, JPMorgan and Arma Partners in New York and London. Prior to joining AGC, Sachin was a Vice President at GrowthPoint Technology Partners, where he worked alongside Markus and Franco. Franco will be a Vice President at AGC and has more than 5 years of experience in investment banking. He started his career at Barclays before moving to GrowthPoint in 2013 as an Associate.
